Aerogel Price List – Per Sq Ft, Per m² and Per Roll

All MGM aerogel blankets share the same silica aerogel chemistry on a glass-fibre / PET needle-felt carrier. The price moves with thickness (more aerogel per square foot), facing and grade. The 10 mm 650-grade blanket is the reference product and the one we hold in stock; the others are priced against it.

• MGM-AGL-650-10 – 10 mm, unfaced, 1.5 m × 25 m roll: ₹125 per sq ft | ₹1,345 per m² | ≈ ₹50,400 per roll (≈ $565)
• MGM-AGL-650-5 – 5 mm, unfaced, 1.5 m × 40 m roll: price on request (typically 55–60% of the 10 mm rate per sq ft)
• MGM-AGL-650-3 – 3 mm, unfaced, 1.5 m × 50 m roll: price on request (EV pads and die-cut parts quoted per piece)
• MGM-AGL-650-10F – 10 mm, aluminium-foil faced, 1.5 m × 25 m: price on request (small premium over 10 mm plain for the vapour barrier)
• MGM-AGL-ECO-10 – 10 mm economy grade (λ 0.029 W/m·K), 1.5 m × 25 m: price on request (lowest cost per sq ft for 25–300 °C duty)
• 20 mm (two 10 mm layers): 2 × the 10 mm rate per sq ft; supplied as two rolls
• Aerogel panels / boards 10–25 mm, 600 × 1,200 mm: price on request

What Decides the Aerogel Insulation Cost You Pay

• Thickness. Price per sq ft is roughly proportional to thickness, so 5 mm costs about half of 10 mm. Pick the thickness from the heat-loss calculation, not the budget: on hot pipe 10 mm is the norm, on HVAC and building retrofits 5 mm usually does the job.
• Grade. The 650 grade (λ 0.018 W/m·K) is the premium product. The ECO grade (λ 0.029 W/m·K) is 30–40% cheaper per sq ft and is the right choice below 300 °C where the extra performance is not needed.
• Facing. Aluminium-foil or glass-cloth facing adds a small premium but saves a separate vapour barrier or cladding layer on cold lines.
• Quantity. Full rolls are cheaper per sq ft than cut pieces; pallet lots (10+ rolls) and project quantities attract volume discounts.
• Delivery. Ex-Delhi NCR freight to Mumbai, Chennai or Bengaluru typically adds ₹2–4 per sq ft; export shipments are quoted FOB Nhava Sheva or CIF destination port.
• Exchange rate. Aerogel raw material is imported, so list prices are reviewed when the INR/USD rate moves significantly.

Aerogel Cost Calculator – Worked Examples

Use these to budget before you ask for a quote. All figures are material only at ₹125 per sq ft, before GST and freight; add 10% for overlaps and cutting waste on complex geometry.

• 100 running metres of 4" (114 mm OD) steam pipe, one 10 mm layer: ≈ 48 m² of blanket → ≈ ₹65,000 (≈ $730)
• 100 running metres of 8" (219 mm OD) hot-oil line, one 10 mm layer: ≈ 80 m² → ≈ ₹1,08,000 (≈ $1,210)
• A 10 m³ vertical storage tank (≈ 25 m² surface), 10 mm: ≈ ₹34,000 (≈ $380)
• 100 m² of external wall or roof retrofit, 10 mm: ≈ ₹1,35,000 (≈ $1,510) – equivalent to 40–50 mm rockwool in just 10 mm
• 50 m² of chilled-water / HVAC duct, 10 mm foil-faced: ≈ ₹67,000 plus facing premium

Aerogel Price vs Rockwool, PUF and Calcium Silicate – Installed Cost

Per square foot aerogel is the most expensive insulation you can buy; per unit of thermal performance over the life of the plant it is usually the cheapest. The comparison below is for a 4" steam line at 250 °C, material plus cladding, supports and labour, Delhi NCR rates.

• Aerogel 10 mm: material ₹125/sq ft | cladding diameter 134 mm | installed ≈ ₹185–210 per sq ft of pipe surface | life 20+ years, re-usable
• Rockwool 50 mm: material ₹25–40/sq ft | cladding diameter 214 mm (60% more sheet) | installed ≈ ₹150–190 per sq ft | life 5–10 years, replaced when wet
• Calcium silicate 65 mm: material ₹60–90/sq ft | cladding diameter 244 mm | installed ≈ ₹230–280 per sq ft | life 15–20 years

The gap between aerogel and rockwool closes almost completely once cladding, support steel, rack space and installation hours are counted, and it reverses on the first re-insulation cycle. Where space is tight, where water ingress is a risk, or where the line is inspected often, aerogel is the cheaper decision.
